Navy Arms

At a gun show today I saw a Navy Arms 1858 Rem.  Decent looking.  I would rate it very good condition.  They were asking $189.  Thoughts?

Depends who made it.  Cabela's sells Pietta 58's for $179.  Navy Arms lists their 58's at $269.  I think Navy now sells Uberti.  If it was a current Uberti, it might be a fair price, although I have seen them less expensive on some other forum classifieds.  If it was an older Navy Arms 58, it could have been made by either Pietta or Armi san Marco and would usually be less expensive.

Not saying what I know is gospel.  It's only what I know.  Someone may know better.

You may have to shop around.  At gunshows, some dealers are really overpriced.  I once saw a Pietta 51 at a local gunshow.  Cabela's, at the time, was selling them for just over $100.  Dealer wanted $200.  Half the blueing was gone, the nipples were peened and the hammer was dimpled from dry firing.
