Evening Marshal,

Lovely night we got.

Just thinking, which I do now and then,  that you might want a CAS avatar for this here forum.  A shot of you in a western hat or some such old western picture.

Just a thought from one of your loyal supporters...

That looks like a winner to me!

Just so I know how do the grips compare to the RV's?  Looking for something a bit smaller for the Mrs.
thanks

Grips on the Dakota is definely smaller than on the Ruger. Feels a lot better too.

Holiday. Not sure just how much costume I'll have ready by then. Will have to see. Money is VERY tight so ain't gonna be buying any new high priced items. Got my SASS package yesterday. Read the rule book. Not sure my hat is gonna be SASS legal but it is all I got and I ain't got money for another so it's gonna hafta do. It could use a leather band on it if I can find a proper sized piece of leather.

Ooops! Sorry about the time thingy. We start registation at eight o'clock and usually start shootin' about nine. I'll have to correct that on the web page. All are welcome! We shoot this weekend too. Looks like we might have fair weather.

Marshal, don't worry about the hat. I've seen some really rough looking hats, ain't nobody gonna say anything unless ya wear a baseball cap or some such. The rules on the hats are a little vague. I've seen the question posed about the "Shady Brady" hats and I have never seen a real good answer as to what the deal is. As a general rule, some sort of western-style hat, western style boots, either pull on or the lace up type, jeans and a long sleave shirt such as a flannel or a cotton work shirt will do just fine.  Moccasans ar legal as well. Heck, if it's cold, I may wear my coon skin cap!  :-D

Cheyenne Ranger, ya might look into gettin a set of Eagle Grips Gunnfighter Grips. From what I have heard, they are slimmer than the factory grips and make the pistol feel more like a Colt. They can be had in smooth or checkered. :D

I borrowed a feller's RV one time and he had the checkered buffalo horn gunfighter grips and yes, they do feel more like a colts. I liked 'em but I like the regular RV grips ok, too. Not sure how wrong you can go with a Ruger anyway. It might help enough for what you need. Have her try some at a match. You can bet somebody there has them and will let you try.
