What the heck is "runout"?

I've seen this expression used many time in different boards but have no idea what it means.
When seconds mean life or death, the police are only minutes away!

Runnout is an indicator of how straight a bullet is in relation to the centerline of the case. Runnout is measured with a dial indicator on the side of the bullet. The straighter the bullet the less the dial moves. If perfectly straight the dial wouldnt move. When it does move this is called runnout in thousands of an inch. Like golf the smaller the number the better they should shoot.
