Anyone here ever use one of these for CAS, I picked one up and I think it could use some work on the cocking spring area.  Anyone done it already?

Only problem I ever had with a Savage/Stevens was that they don't open freely all the way for easy reloading, you have to push the last bit against a spring to clear the breech past the chamber edge.

I have a single trigger version 12 ga 5100 that I use for CAS.  It is nothing more than a Savage/Stevens 311.  Check out the recent thread "Side by side dress up" for some info on various fixes.
