Got my Encore back!

She came in yesterday but I couldn't get to the range until today.  Here are my results.

24" .25-06 factory barrel still won't do better than 3.5"s at 100 yards.  I have put about $80 worth of ammo from different makers and even some handloads through it and nothing will shoot out of it.

26" .270 Fox Ridge heavy contour barrel is dead on money!  Back to back 1/2" groups at 100 yards with Rem 130 PSPCL's.  I used the same scope on both barrels to make sure that wasn't the problem.  I guess the quarter bore will make another trip to New Hampshire in the morning?

The thicker firing pin bushing really tightened things up in my action and the .270 barrel is back to being a shooter!  At least I can hunt with my rifle now!

i couldn't get my 25-06 to shoot but one bullet and i don't know if it was me or the barrel but the 85 grain silver ballistic tips shot really well one inch groups at a hundred but the other bullets i tried out to 100 grain didn't shoot well for me at all. i have since learned that the best round is that round between 115 to 120 grain bullets. i am sure there is a way to somehow make it work but i know the guy i sold it too will probably have it shooting dime groups at a hundred it always seems to happen to me and i have always been a 30 cal person so i went back to what i knnew and am now shooting my 308 and am very confident in it and my groups show me i am right about me lol\
good luck

I had an incredably picky 24" 25/06 barrel that would only shoot Sierra 117gr SBT bullets into MOA, most other bullts wouldn't do 3" at 100.  I sent it down the road and the guy that bought it from me only shoots the federal premium 117gr load thru it and has been extremely happy with it.
