Didn't they say they would be offered in July, Aug, or maybe as late as October? ? ?

Checking the watch now ... hey wait just a minute it's almost December.

HUH!!!  Maybe they'll put up the Ruger 204 first... LOL!

DOH!

The .204 Ruger is already available as a rifle or an accessory barrel....the .22-250 is available as a rifle, just not common, yet..... I've seen a report by an owner on another forum. I have a .204 Ruger Handi, and MarkA had a barrel fitted to his frame. Patience....

I was at the big gunshow at Market Hall in Dallas yesterday.  An Est Texas based dealer had several Handi-Rifles, including a .204 Ruger and two 22-250s.  He now only has the 22-250s  !  I was looking for a Handi in .223, but when I saw the .204 for just over $200 new in the box, I jumped.  I'm about to begin the accurizing process this week.  I'm also looking at scope options; so I'm open to suggestions in the low to mid price range.  This will be my predator gun, unless the local crows raise my ire!  I'll have the first weeks of January to do accuracy testing and get ready for some serious varmint hunting!  I think that the .204 will work just fine.

Hey v8r,

It has a laminated stock, but I didn't even notice until I got it home and saw the hang tag!  The glue, wood laminations, and stain are so close in color, it looks like one piece of wood.

A friend told me to remove the buttpad and be sure its finished;  he has an Ultra in .308 that he had to replace the stock because some water seeped between the pad and butt during a caribou hunt.  A few weeks later, the stock began to de-laminate!  He replaced it with a solid stock.

The other feature that surprised me is the extractor, as opposed to the positive ejector on my .270 Handi.  Either way is alright by me.  I'm researching scopes as I write;  I'm leaning toward another Simmons, since I've been happy with my 3-10x44 Mag on my .270 Handi.

Long Live the Handi Rifle!

Take a look at the Simmons ATV (All Target Variable).  It is a 4.5-14x40 with the AO.  Several on the site have one.  I have two and could not be happier.  Last I heard, Natchez SS had them for $79 I think.  That is about what I paid for mine on ebay.  One for $83 or so and the other for $65.  Fully multi coated optics.  Should be very much OK for a light kicker.
