best way to call yotes?

Is a very good question that might best be answered by a local hunter. If I were to come down for a short visit I would use my open reed howler & associated language as I dont know what your yotes are feeding on.

If I had a more extended stay, I would find out what the yotes were feeding on and use the appropriate closed reed mouth call. This could be anything from a mouse or other rodents to a rabbit "cottontail or Jack" or a common bird like a woodpecker or a turkey or even a deer fawn. Do you guys know of a particular sound that a tourist in distress makes? :-D

Once you have determined this, you can use your computer to search for wildlife or predator calls and pick the appropriate one for your area. This would be the closed reed mouth call or perhaps even an electronic!. You may have a sporting goods store with these calls already in stock? Again, perhaps a local or someone who has hunted there will jump in with an exact make & model that has worked well for them. These calls come with instructions but it won't hurt abit to purchase an instructional video or cassette. The ultimate would be for you to go with someone who has done this successfully a few times.

It is always good to come back here for ideas or trouble shooting when things are not happening for you. Good Luck  :D
