I found what looks like a new Beretta 686 Black Onyx 28 ga. for $894.99. Is this a good price and do they still make this gun? I had been thinking about getting a ruger 28ga but this Beretta is nice.

Sounds like an excellent price. Don't think it's made anymore tho. New White Onyx are running in the $1400-1500 range locally right now.

I agree with the boss on this one. Sounds like a good price. The Beretta website no longer shows the Black Onyx. I have several Beretta O/U shotguns and one Ruger in 28ga. While I can't tell you anything bad about the Ruger, I much prefer the Berettas. For me, the Berettas come up quicker and point better.

I saw a Black Onyx in 12 ga about two weeks ago in a large gunshop about 50 miles from here. They were asking around $1200 though I cannot be sure what the exact price was as I looked at so many O/U's. I think maybe you should grab that one if it is the caliber you wanted.
