RCBS Die problem
« on: November 24, 2004, 07:04:09 PM »
I am reloading Nosler BT.  My RCBS buller seating die keeps putting a scratch around the bullet about 2/3 up from the base.
I cleaned the die today and I even tried buffing the areas that contact the bullet, but it still leaves a scratch.  Any suggestions?

Get a seating plug that more resembles the profile of the bullet.

Is the scratch just unsightly or is it causing some type of bullet deformation that affects accuracy.  Most critters won't mind the scratch.  If you can't live with it, give RCBS a call.  I have found them to be most accommodating.

I don't really think it is affecting accuracy, but it sure is unsightly.  I's going to get another seating plug.

Call RCBS customer service and talk to them. I bent the depriming rod on 2 different sets of their die and could find them local so I called them. I told the sweet little thing that answered my call what I had done and befor I could ask her what it was going to cost me to have them send me some she ask for my ad and said that they would ship me some. Great service at RCBS and I like their dies too.
