I am very close to ordering this handgun because I love this caliber. Do any of you guys have one? What do you think of it? How much should I expect to pay through my gunshop?
I have contacted Lipsey's and they have them in stock still. I plan on taking mine boar and deer hunting if I go through with this purchase. I need some opinions ... please.

Had my name on a list prior to the release of these. Purchased mine through Ray's Bait/Tackle (ex. service) and had it transferred through my dealer here. Cost is about the same as the other Hunter models so I wouldn't pay any more than for the 44 Hunters. I'd say be leary about going much over $500 for the gun itself.
I've yet to shoot the gun but got it because I had always hoped for a 45 Hunter. A bit front heavy but not a big deal. Just a awsome gun! Not planning on scoping it but ya never know.

Are the Lipsey's the bisley variation?

The .45 Hunters are only available in the std gripframe (squareback/dragoon style) configuration. The .41 Hunters distributed by Davidson's are avail in both std gripframe and Bisley gripframe as is the cataloged .44 Hunters.

Thanks for the replies ....
I have a Bisley Vaquero 5.5" case-hardened in .45 lc. I love the feel the Bisley but I also like the standard grip frame. As Blkhawk73 said, the .45 lc Hunter is only available in the standard grip-frame but a simple swap of a Bisley frame is an option if I choose to do so.
macbullet ... thanks for the pics
Is anyone actually hunting with theirs?

I may be this fall but not 100% sure. I may use my 5 1/2" 45lc Bisley (Acusport run) instead. Will likely come down to whichever I grab before heading out the door. I'll not be using optics on the Hunter though. If need be, I've got a scoped BH in .41 for those circumstnces.

Bisley vs Super grip frame

For what it's worth I went way out of my way for one of the Accusport Bisley 45s only to find the grip didn't agree with me. I wished I could have tried before buying.
I find the Super Blackhawk to be more compatible with my hand. I'd be happy to have the hunter with the regular Super grip which I guess is still more hand-filling than the regular Blackhawk grip frame.
Try them if you can!

Good luck on filling those tags Slavage. Please let us know how you did and how your Ruger .41 Hunter performed. What kind of loads/bullets will you be using?

i have dies an some once fired brass but its that junk pmc stuff came with the dies but being that hunting season for guns starts in 20 days an i work for a sporting goods chain i wount have the time to even try to work loads up at all so i went with factory ammo for the time being
ill be shooting winchesters 175 silver tip hp
an winchester supr. 240 platnum tip hp
they were the only two rounds i found that i liked
cause i dont wish to shoot lead out of my guns
when i do get every thing ready im thinking ill shoot 210 xtp's from hornady for some reasion i like ther rounds a lot in my 243 357 an 44
but i do have this too say
having a bushnell trophy scope 2-6x32 on my super back hawk hunter an im thinking the 4 power leapold will have the same problum
the mikes bandetio stly holster dosent hold it very good
my older black hawk with the weaver to drill mount on it with the same scope is fine but being that the scope on the new hunter model is more down ontop of the barrel it just dosent set in ther too my likeing at all
so this spring ill be ordering a custom fit pistol packing rig
im just not sure of what color too get
as soon as the scope comes in an is mounted ill post some pics but im not sure were to post them too
i have aol so i guess ill just see if i can put them on that

We found it on gun trader for 450...and talk about a sweet gun...such a nice feel...he likes the trigger, like all guns from factory that I get, a wolff spring kit is needed...but then thats me...but what a wonderful gun...
