It seems that I was given a .30 carbine by my father a few years ago. And I'm dying to do a little predator hunting with it. I'll be calling and spot and stalking (with the coyotes), and if Santa is good to me, using a Rigor Rabbit decoy. My brother's store had a bunch (10 boxes of 50 rnds) of 110 Grain Hollowpoint Factory Winchester fodder at $5/box. So, my question is, has anyone ever used this on coyotes, and if so, how much damage are we looking at? I've got a 4 power scope, hunting timber country in NW Montana, and shots are not likely to be far ranging. I have a Daewoo .223 that also goes along at times, but the little .30 is so much more easy to pack, especially if I get a folding stock for it. Curious on thoughs. I do have some 100 grain lrn bullets I can load too, and thought about using IMR 4227. Any thoughts are appreciated.
