If you are "an RCBS guy", I can see NO WAY that getting a Lee press will make you happy.

Lee makes only okay quality products.  Some of their designs are innovative and all are made to sell for a low price.  Very few of their products seem to hold up of keep owners happy.

Do yourself a favor and stay with RCBS equipment.  I did, and have never regretted it.

Love Lee and have three of their presses including the turret.  As a matter of fact I ONLY have three presses  :-D .  Keep the ram oiled and you should never have a problem.

I have 6 press' and the Lee turret is by far the most used.  Way too handy just swapping turrets to change calibers.  No re-adjusting dies each time.  Too easy.  Have 9 turrets set up and ready.

I am considering a turret press. I have a rcbs rock chucker, just bought a Lee 4 hole turret press for handguns. Now I want a turret press for med rifles. Heres the deal I decap all primers with a Rcbs tool, Tumble shells, prep and prime with a rcbs hand tool. I may hook to the Rcbs turret press rather than the Redding or the Lee. "they have an incredible customer service dept". After awhile in reloading you acquire more than one press!!!

I haven't seen a mention of Dillon so I guess I should make a stand. The Dillon RL550B is the best press on the market bar none. Caliber conversion is a snap, the powder measure and auto-primer systems are the best available. It does not auto-index (manually rotate the shellplate) so you can access all 4 stations individually like a single stage press or just turn out a completed round with each pull of the handle. They will accept any standard dies (rifle or pistol). You can't beat Dillon's warantee or their customer service. Yes, they cost a little more but I figure they are well worth it. Mine is 11 or 12 years old and still works like new after 10's of thousands of loaded rounds.

What ever press you choose is a step in the right direction. This hobby is fun if not addictive.

I have never broken or wore out a Lee product in 15 years of reloading. I have the turret press and am thinking of getting another one. One will be autoindexing 3 hole for handguns and one for 4 hole manual indexing rifle.  Anyone who says Lee stuff doesn't hold up has never used them.

I bought as a 1st press an RCBS Turret.  It is great!  With it (and a spare turret) I have never seen a need to go with multiple presses.  Stick with the RCBS.

I have an Ammo Master RCBS I use for 90% of my reloading and a Lyman turret press for the other 10%. I load my 45ACP, 45 Win Mag and .38 Special and 357 Mag on the Lyman press and everything else on the RCBS Ammo Master. Just more room to work with large rounds. But if I had to get another turret press I would get the RCBS. JMHO  :D

Having cut my teeth on Lee products, I can honestly say that their design ideas are top notch. With regard to their durability, they sit at the bottom of the heap. The press bases are cast from a pot metal which has more porosity then a bee hive and wears like butter against a hot knife. I too own a RL 550 and love it. I used to own a Rock Chucker but since decided that my second press should be a Lyman turret. The thing that sold me on the Lyman was finding an All American turret one day at a yard sale and I fell in love with the quality. Lee makes nice presses if all you want to do is look at them.
