I use plastics quite a bit when ice fishing. I have caught fish on almost every kind that I try. The only one I haven't done well with are noodles. Does anyone have any tricks to share about using them?

In the central part of WI, plastics have almost replaced live bait for many fisherman, myself included. The wedge type baits work the best for me. A local guy makes many different colors of the wedges. They work very well for panfish. Check out Custom Jigs and Spins. Under the catergories, check out finesse plastics and check out the articles they have. They might be useful for you.

I have my best luck with purple hands down, and red and orange on occasion. I usually fish them on a 1/80 or 1/64 oz ball head jig. But sometimes I fish them on a jig such as a K & E Moon Glitter or a Flirty Girty jig.
I am curious what kind of fish do you fish for in your neck of the woods?

i go for pretty much anything that will bite. usually pipsqueak rainbows on a stocked lake, although last year i had sucess on the red river catching walleye and burbot. this year i plan to find some good spots for northerns.
