First, thanks to all for advice and help. I have decided on a Ruger for my next coyote rifle, standard M77 in 223, it will wear a 3-12x44 Millet Buck Gold. Now, my problem is this: I have a Savage M110 in 243 that is in need of better optics. I have to use extended rings because it is a long action rifle. I am limited to a 40mm objective (maybe 42) with high rings. I hunt coyotes both day and night. So far I am considering a Nikon Buckmaster in 3-9X40 or a Bushnell Elite3200 in same, either firefly or not. How is the firefly for night shooting? Oh yeah, one other consideration, may be the Buckmaster in 4.5-14X40. I made the mistake of not realinzing what a pain it is to scope this long action Savage when I bought it. The rifle shoots great, it's just a little heavy to carry and a little hard to mount a scope on. The other angle I have is that if the scope mounting area is 6 3/4 or more then I wouldn't need extended rings, I can use any height rings. I'm a little frustrated, some help please.
