Best bullet weight for 45 colt?

I am interested in what bullet weight you think is optimal for the 45 colt? I will be using it for hunting deer and bear. I was thinking something in the 300-350gr but would certainly like some advice.[/b]

For game up to elk you will probably be happiest with a 300 gr WFN, loaded to 1200 fps.  Go higher on the velocity if you like, but it flattens what it hits at this speed and the mild recoil makes it easy to hit with.  If you yearn for more weight, don't go higher than 325 gr.  If you want milder recoil, the 280 gr will make you happy, at the same speeds for deer and bear.  Juice the speed up to 1400 for elk and larger with this lighter bullet though.
