Has anybody seen any rabbits this year?  I was waiting for a report before I headed out.  I live in Anchorage/Valley area.

Good question. I'd like to know as well. I live in the Wasilla area myself, but I haven't had the chance to go out and look for any rabbits yet. When I go, Point Mack will be the first spot I hit. Before the big die-off, Point Mack was one of the best places I've ever hunted for rabbits. They were everywhere and it was a ton of fun!

Point Mack = Point Mackenzie. In my opinion, used to be the rabbit capital for the valley area.

Just go down KGB road like you're heading to the Little Su campground/ boat launch. Farmer Lake area has always been productive for rabbits.

And if you go further, to the Big Su, you can find a shitload of ptarmigan in the drainages and stuff along the Big Su.

I would have envenually figured that out.  I used to hunt moose in the Point Mack area back when it was "one bull" instead of the spike/50 inch law now.

Point Mackenzie has a lot of moose in there, plus lots of bulls. I saw 12 back there this year while hunting. I saw two bulls just after hunting season that were 60+ inches hanging out together.

Anybody know where we are in the rabbit cycle? Fish and Feathers has been absolutely no help.
