Hay Loader:  Call Smith and Wesson directly, they will help you with this and may even be able to tell you where the revolver was first shipped or to whom it was first sold.  Mikey.

All the information that I can give you is that Smith & Wesson starting using the C prefix for the Model 10 in 1948 and continued to use it up until 1967 with it ending at C999999. Like Mikey said, you can contact Smith & Wesson directly for the exact year.
