I've been registered on this site for a while and been reading along on the NEF/H&R firearms section, but didnt notice the trapping til tonight. I'm a 15 yr-old trapper from Nh, was wondering if anyone knows of a local fur buyer they could suggest to me? Also, I wouldnt mind knowing what you've been getting for your fur this year- specifically beaver, 'rats, coon, fisher and mink?

Thanks in advance for any replies

Howdy,  Down in Teas coon are $6.00 half of what they were when my hounds were all alive. Beaver... the fur buyer won't even buy them.
The money is in Cats, and I save coon for my new hound Sandymay, and just hunt them.
At $50.-100.00 a Cat looks pretty good to me.
Trapping is what gets me up and out of the house every day.
It is what I want to do and where I want to be.  And I am really into Hog,  Hog are worth .50 a pound, are big game compared to coon hunting.
And are extreamly fast and mean and  don't care what anybody thinks about them. Good eating too!

BPM--welcome to our forum.
The fur in your neck of the woods, will be worth more than that from southern states--except otter.
Some coon from Minnesota will be worth more than $20.00,some beaver will be worth more than $30.00.
A lot depends on when you catch your fur, also if you sell green or finnished. If you can get ahold of your states trappers association, they may be able to give you up to date prices for fur in your area.

Thanks for all the replies, guys.

I found out a bit on the current fur prices- looking pretty good for me 8) 30 for beaver- I got two big ones so far (54 pounds and 61 pounds). Both have their winter coats in fully, there's been ice on and off the pond they're in for about the last 2 1/2 weeks every morning. Still a few more left in there I wanna trap, we'll see if I get em. Anyone know what fisher is going for? I've got a few sets out and can catch em no problem, plenty of em around, too bad they wont raise the limit higher- only 15 for me a season. It seems like every time i check one of my 160's theres a new fisher in it.

Thanks,
dustin

consider yourself lucky,we can only take 4 and only in the northern half of the state.
My guess is about 30.00 on fisher--some higher some lower.
