I sighted my .357 rifle in today that I got back from Nef.I sighted it in at 50 yards, because I figured that a pistol caliber would probably have a lot more drop than a rifle caliber.I was shooting at a 3 inch 22 long rifle target.This thing shoots great it put 5 shots in the 1 inch bulls eye with Remington UMC 125 grain soft point ammo.I shot a sixth shot and it was a little to the right.I really like the trigger job NEF did,it must be 3 pounds or less and very smooth.The trigger is better than my tc contender carbine that I have the trigger adjusted down to very light.It did still crater one primer real bad but that was out of 25 rounds so i don't think it is a problem like it was.I am a very satisfied customer.I am glad that there is still a company that will stand behind its product.I was also shooting my sporster .22.I just bought a brick of the Remington golden bullets,because thats what I have been shooting.Half of the rounds I fired out of the pack sounded like a cb .22 going off,and some sounded like they were loaded properly.I hate when I get a bad brick of 22 ammo.I really don't think it was how I was pulling the trigger,I have never had a problem before.The few rounds that did go off right gouped about 1 inch at 50 yards.This rifle is usually more accurate than my contender carbine in 22 with the match grade barrel,but not today.

Try 100 yards, thy're a lot flatter than you think! Mine will shoot at about 1" at 100 yards using 250 gr Beartooth LFNGC, CCI 400, and 7.5 gr 800X in .357 Mag brass. It's only about 1200 fps, but I think it'll do whatever I call on it to do.

I don't use many factory loads, so I can't tell you what they will do.

My barrel will shoot anything from .38 Special to .360 DW in a factory chamber.

I use 180 lbt stle bullets in mine and it will shoot 1" all day at 100yrds, and 148gr HBWCs in .38 brass will knock the center out of the bull at 50yrds. Try some 158gr SWCs over 3.9 grains of titegroup for plinkers, there are fun to shoot and cheap too.

For the 22LR, ya might give the Federal bulk a try. The guys at the old Marlin board said it was the best bulk on the market and I have a brick and get great accuracy from them out of my Savage MKII.

Good to see you around again, Bob. Vance and I are sold on those 180 LBT style bullets, too. Seems to be the optimum weight and design for the .357 family.

Thanks DJ glad to be settled down again. Now I need to learn how to use my new camera and post some picture everyone is making me jealous showing off there shootin irons. :grin:

The 357 is my favorite NEF--I purchased a synthetic 357 and then sent it to NEF for a 44 mag [I like to load straight cartridges]--I set up 3 clays at one hundred yards and pop them all--I have also popped two of three shotgun shells at the same distance with my own reloads--It is a great barrel--you will love it.
