Just wanted to say howdy and relate my first inline deer story.
My eyes are getting to the point where regular iron sights aren't cutting it very well for hunting so I've went to scopes on my big game guns. I've been traditional muzzle loading for 10 years and couldn't stand the thought of scoping or putting fiber optic sights on my side cockers so I picked up an Knight LK-93 W/ fiber optics to try before I invested in something else.
My first time out on the range I was a bit surprised at how accurate it was with very little load development. 100 grs volume of FFFg Elephant powder pushing a 300 gr speer .429 softpoint wrapped in a Knight sabot all lit off with a RWS no 11 cap. Very accurate, very consistent. 4 shots in a 4" bull at 80 yards just leaned against the truck.
Took it out last night for Michigans muzzleloader season. I had a doe permit and decided I would fill that if the opportunity came up. Long story short, 50 yard shot on a 120 lb doe, dropped her in her tracks, complete pass through of the bullet.
I'm hooked, next thing is a scope, maybe a primer conversion to 209 or musket caps and further load development. I was thinking that the Knight was going to be a starter gun but with performance this good I will stick with it for awhile.
