She's on the way . . . .
« on: January 25, 2003, 09:45:17 PM »
. . . .  ordered a 209X50 Encore the other day.  Just have to wait another couple of weeks before I get to hold 'er.  I ended up with the SS/Synthetic version.  Was able to get it cheap at auction for $500 vs. the 580 + tax I woud have paid at a local dealer, if they could have even gotten one.

Already have plans to accessorize immediately.  Thinking of ditching the synthetic stocks for laminated ones.  Also have a .223 barrel on the short list that should be just the ticket for crows, groundhogs, and other vermin.  And then there are the scopes and mounts to go with it all.  Oh how the money will flow . . . if I can get it past the wife!

Thanks to all of those who replied to my post below.

Here's my 209×50 with the "Nutmeg" color laminate stock set.

The optics are Burris Compact 3-9×32 and makes a perfect match for this rifle.

and yes the $$$ will flow freely to barrel makers like VVCG and Bullberry.  Here's a pic of my latest barrel acquisition.  It's a custom Bullberry chambered for the 17 Ackley Hornet.  This barrel is 22" long 1:10 twist with a light varmint contour.  I took this picture before I mounted my Burris Compact 4-12×32 A/O.  The barrel and forearm are Bullberry.
