Vetterli Model 1871 rifle

one of the internet dealers has one of these in good condition for $270 US. i don't plan on buying it but i'm curious about them. how hard is it to find .41 Swiss ammo? can brass be formed from readily available calibers. given it's age it will be BPCR. i've seen these in mueseums before and always thought they where mighty funny looking, almost like a cross between an bolt action and a lever gun. still, i'm tempted. it's an antique so i wouldn't have to deal with registering it, but at this point i can't justify a gun that you can't get ammo for. maybe one of you guys could give it a home until i can accomodate it.

here you go.

choose antique guns in the left column and it should be at the bottom of the page. they are a Canadian dealer, but sincw it's an antique there would be a minimal amount of hassle for any American purchasing it.
