I'm going to ask Santa for a new shotgun for turkey hunting this spring. Was hoping for a little input from you veteran turkey hunters on what gun you would recommend. Santa says with the rising prices of elf food, he can only spend around $500. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!!!

Depends on what you want. I have shot a Mossberg 835 for several years and was very happy with it. I also like the Benelli guns. Believe it or not though my favorite turkey gun is an inexpensive NEF single shot. It is light, easy to carry on long days, and is easy to move through the thick brush. The new Topper Deluxe Classic even has a vent rib and screw in chokes for around $150. For I good turkey gun I would ask Santa for the most practical/economical gun I can imagine for hunting turkey.

Thanks for the input!! I have a T/C Encore and am considering the turkey barrel for this gun....was just concerned about the single shot thing....I'm narrowing the field down, though. You mentioned Benelli, I was thinking of going with the nova pump Thanks again for the help.

Hi i would go with a Benelli or a Remington i dont have a pump now i went to a auto loader in a Benelli a few yrs back i like the 870 3 1/2 inch mag camo gun and the Benelli too i have shot both and out of the 2 the Benelli kicks the most becuse it is lighter VM
