Help with reloader

I just purchesed a used shot reloader a pacific dl-155 and I have no idea how much power the power dies use they have numbers on them like 444,445 and so forth my loading book dose not tell me what that means can some one help me. :cry:

Well yeah but you need more help than I can give you based on the information you have provided so far. What I STRONGLY recommend you do is to buy the current Lyman Shotshell Reloading Manual.  The reasons for these are several.

It contains a list of the powder bushings by manufacturer and how much of each shotshell powder they will drop in your specific press. It does matter which press you have as the same bushings will not drop precisely the same in the DL-155 you have as they will in the other Pacific (now Hornady) presses. Won't change much but does change. Even with this info in hand it is best you weight a few charges to make sure yours is dropping what it should.

The manual contains the most comprehensive shotshell reloading data on the market.

It gives you lots of info on reloading of shotshells which a new reloader should read and heed. Different hulls require different amounts of powder based on what wad you use as well as what shot charge you wish to load. You should NEVER ever try reloading shells without loading data from a reliable source and NO the internet is NOT a reliable source of info.

I can look this up for you for a few bushings IF you tell me what powder you wish to use but that is NO SUBSTITUTE for getting the Lyman Shotshell Manual and reading it and following the instructions there in.

You need to get a powder scale, too, so you can confirm that your charge bar is dropping what you think it is dropping.  It prevents the "Oops, what I read was one line different than what I thought I was reading."

Thank you for the info I bought the 4th edtion lyaman shotshell book to replace my 2nd edtion book much better.
