Winchester 94 .307 problem
« on: December 15, 2004, 01:14:23 PM »
A friend of mine has a Winchester .307 WCF that is having a problem with the lever and action popping open when he fires it. It does it more often with upper level loads, but will still do it with starting loads. Does anyone have any experience with this problem, and hopefully have a solution?

Thanks,
Danny

Thw only time I've seen this sort of thing was with a sprung action.   Perhaps a trip back to Winchester might be in order?  I don't know if they can fix it but they're your best chance..  Perhaps there is another reason for this behavior. that someone else may know of..  Does the action open completely?  Is there any damage to the locking bolt recesses in the action.  Inspect them with a light and the action open.

I think he'll take your advice and send it back to the factory.
