I'm starting to have problems focusing on rear sight,front sight and target all at the same time.What do you guys do its hard to shoot a good group when target is fuzzy or the sights are.I have made a hole in a piece of black electrical tape with a needle.Placed it on my shooting glasses in front of my eye (hard getting it in right place ).Looking thru this hole really sharpens everything up.There has to be something better that don't cost a lot of money.EA Brown has a adjustable objective that will do the same thing but its a little pricey.I was just wondering what some of you have tried.

I have not only old eyes, but in addition I have a vision problem that appeared 6 years ago. Quality optics help when appropriate, but I enjoy shooting the old flintlocks. This led me to the Merit Optical Attachment. This is an adjustable aperature that attaches to the eye glasses with suction. It takes some time to get used to, but it does work. It works on the same principle as the hole in the electrical tape that you have used. It's not as cheap as electrical tape, but it is better. Hope this helps. You're NOT supposed to even try to focus on all three. In reality no human ever could. The front sight is what you want to focus on. If you can still see it clearly you should be able to shoot well. If you can't then you cannot shoot iron sights well. I'm getting to where I cannot. I see fine at distance but up close I'm dange near blind. Aperture devices like the Merit do wonders for clearning up vision.

How heavy and how well do they stay on your glasses.

I just ordered the Merrit device for my eye glasses. I had a bit of a tough time getting the suction cup to stick to the lens because I'm using safety glasses (tri-focal with the steps ground into the outer surfaces).

With me, I'm looking out of my left eye at the upper-right corner of the frame. I have used the electricians tape as well and it works quite well when looking through a rear peep sight and front blade. The Merrit has an aperture adjustable eyepiece on a swival that allows precise placement so when I get to the range I'll let you know how it works out. At about $70 with NY sales tax and shipping it better be worth it! Later......

Somewhere I've seen one that clamps to the arm of the glasses frame and wasn't that expensive.....lemme look.

Well that didn't take long, It's called the Farrsight in Brownells. Says it has a padded spring clip and that and it will pivot out of the way when needed.

Don't know if it's worth a hoot, maybe someone else has tried one.

Here is one in Brownells that most of the guys I shoot with use. It is a little pricey but it's very well made.

If the Farrsight is still available it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. I've owned several. They are a bit easy to break. I still have one in good shape. Last one I bought was hald that price but a long time ago. If you get it get two just in case you break one and they are again off the market. I might get me a back up just in case. I'd take it two to one over the Merit and is far cheaper.

The only thing I've seen that might be better is a pair of glasses I picked up somewhere long years ago. It has a thin black cardboard (for lack of a more descriptive term) lens in place of the glass that would normally be there. Has a ton of small holes uniformly spaced on both lens. In use there is plenty of light coming thru to see OK wearing them. Select a hole that is just right place and use it to view thru to the sights. It and the FarrSight work pretty well equally in allowing you to see front and rear sight and target all as close to being in focus as you've ever experienced in yoru life. You will be amazed.

Wheelgun - I use the Merit attachment and don't have a problem with it staying attached. I clean my glasses well before placing it. I wear tri-focals with the grooves. Just in case it gets dislodged, I tie a short piece of fishing line to the Merit and to my glassses. It takes some getting used to, but it works.

Thanks for all of the replys.I think I will try the farrsight first.I once thought about trying the sun screen you see on the windows of some cars.Usually on side windows to keep sun off children.I have not looked at it up close I don't know how close or how small the holes are.

I could not find it online or get the catalog number to work. I did find this one that is on the same design.

Well I'm looking at it in the #57 04-05 book!
They show the disc as #084-048-001
and the concentrator as #084-48-002
The concentrator is a solid disk to be used as a blinder.
Make sure when you imput the part # you also add the dashes. I've noticed that I sometimes can't find some of the items online that are in the catalog too!
