High Pressure Sign's
« on: December 13, 2004, 05:47:39 PM »
Well I took my Mosin 91/30 out the range today.
Was shooting S&B 170gr. sp.
Was gouping well, but The bolt was hard to open and the primers were alittle cratered.
This is the only ammo I have fired in this weapon.
Has anyone any experiance with S&B having high pressure's.

Well I took a look at my Chamber today and it was a little rough.
Also around the edge of the opening it had a couple of small nick's.
I took a dowel wraped it in 320 grit wet or dry, hook it to the drill and inserted it into the chamber and away I went.
After that I took a Fired case drilled out the primer pocket and inserted a
hex head screw then globbed on the JB Bore paste and inserted in chamber, put the drill on it and again away I went.
Then cleaned it all up.
Only another range session will tell if it help.
Also picked up some surplus ammo to try.
Problem Cured :-D  :-D  :-D
