Yeah if you hit him over the head with it. But as far as shooting a coon with one, the only thing you'll do with that .177 2100 is get him mad. And you really don't want a wounded ticked off raccoon running around your yard. You'll need to be plenty close  for 2100 to do any serious damage, and if you get it mad you may end up using it as a club to defend yourself. If youy really need to get rid of it, either trap it, shoot it with a real gun or call an animal nuisance or pest control specialist.

whacker,

I have taken a few raccoons with pellet rifles and my daughter has taken even more but never with a .177 at 700 fps. or less.  Get yourself a more powerful air rifle for something as large and tough as a raccoon.  Lawdog

You want to do it the easy cheap way.  Go buy some 22 CB's or 22 sub sonics.  Either will do.  They are very quiet.  If it is at night shine a red filter light at him & shoot him in the eye. The red filter will not scare him. He will go down like a ton of bricks.  If he is facing away from you shoot him behind the head at ear level, he will go down like a ton of bricks.  If you shoot him in the chest it will take a minute or two for him to die & he will be moving.  Do NOT shoot him from the front at the top of his head.  The bullet will go under his skin & right over his skull.  As for using YOUR pellet gun, don't.  Not enough power.  If you had a 22 pellet gun that had at least 20FPE you could use it.  How do I know how all this?  I have killed way over 1000 raccoons.

Ouch...  Sorry if this is off-topic, but would a 17HMR do the same thing?  I know the blunt nose on a 22 LR bullet would do that, but the sharp bullets on a 17?  Patriot

I have never tried that with my 17HMR.  I have shot them in the chest from the front & also in the eye from the front with the 17HMR.  Either way they they drop like a ton of bricks.  With a top of the head shot they just might get scalped.

Dont use the ballistic tip type bullet as is the Hornady.  It may not penetrate as needed.  The CCI TnT shoud do the trick just fine

I've taken several coon with my Gamo 220 in .177.......but that's rated at 1000fps.  All head shots. All came down dead

Hit one between the eyes about 5 times with a .22 Benjamin with 10 pumps. All it did was make him blink. Decided it was worth the comotion in the neighborhood to take him out. Hit him in the face with a No 7-1/2 12 gauge trap load and he fell out of the tree. He was still alive on the ground so I had to splatter him with a shovel. This was all at night. My mom was holding the flashlight behind me so I could see my sights and his eyes. He was going after the goldfish in our pond.
If God wanted plastic stocks he would have made plastic trees.
