Can anyone tell me how far a bullet will travel when fired from a 45degree angle into the air. I was hunting squirrels with a friend this winter,he was useing a Marlin 17VS and shooting Remington ammo,he missed the squirrel and also the bullet cleared the ridge above us.In all the years I've hunted I never took a shot like that,there were no houses within miles of us in the direction the bullet went, But now I do wonder how far the bullet would travel, Is there some way to figure the distance a certain bullet will travel.This may be a stupid question,but maybe someone out there will know.
