Savage bolt question

What is the proper way to take the bolt head off a Savage LA bolt.
It seems like I would only have to knock out the retaining pin but want to be on the safe side and find out for sure what to expect.

Be sure to remove the firing pin assembly before knocking out the retaining pin... and note the position of the front baffle and the friction ring. An exploded diagram can be found at
