I know this may be a pipe dream, but...is there a way to get a handi in 10mm auto? I know it isn't chambered by the factory, so it would be a custom job. Is there anyone who does this type thing. Also, is there a factory Handi barrel that could be rechambered to 10mm. Something like 357mag to max? If not, is there a barrel with a .40 caliber bore that could be shortened, reamed, or otherwise changed? This may sound like a strange request, but I would love to have a Hnadi to match my (gasp)Glock 20. I have hunted with the 20, and love it. A Handi in the same caliber would make a great, lite-weight companion for the shots just outside pistol range. I have an original 357max, and could get a 44mag easily. I just want to be a little different/difficult :lol:

A .223 could be rebored to a 10mmAuto. Any of the existing rimmed cases in a Handi would not be suitable for the 10mm Auto since it has no rim. But a 223 would clean up the bore and chamber.

Thanks for the response. So a .223 barrel would have enough metal to allow for the rebore, and not have trouble with the rim? Does anyone know a smith who does this type of work? I'm not sure anyone around my area would take on a complete rebore.

I forgot mention that you need to get a 223 Ultra varmint barrel 24" long.
The muzzle is .768" and the 10mm bore is .400. That would leave you a pretty good sized barrel wall of.169".

I know a smith in Canada that can do it. A barrel is not too bad to send.
But there should be people in the States that can do that.

hey i might of found a 40 cal.barrel it octagon i need a bullet to ck . the bore with???you have one??? is 50 bucks plus shiping to much???jb

I'm a fan of the 10mm auto, I've got a Wittness in that Caliber,great combo,But if I was going to have a 40 cal. Handi ,I'd like to have a 375 Win. straight walled to 40 cal ,Winchester had a 400 Win. on the drawing board ,but when the 375win. failed to sell they dropped it.
Withsuch a cartridge you would be close to the 444 M. with less re-coil. just my .03 cents, (everythings went up)
