You want to elaborate on that statement?

OK now you've pissed in your corn flakes and I'm gonna get in this.

You are in no position to make rules. If I decide to make any new rules I'll go so. You've acted like a child in this entire matter since the beginning. Now is the time to do one of two things.

1. Begin acting like an adult and get on with life.

2. Go find another site to play your childish games.

There is no third option. It ends here and now.

Graybeard, I have the deepest respect for you and others on this forum. I tried to extend my apoligy and end the BS. But for some reason it would'nt accept my post.  Call me childish or stubborn but I believe what I believe. Would you think more of me if I layed down and accepted some-one elses belief? Sorry, thats not my style. Evidently they just don't want to hear any-thing negative about NEF.And you're absolutely right, enough is enough.

Well I guess my 10:13 post has no meaning now.  Sorry about that.  This is a great site, lets just get on with the positive stuff.  Not to say that someone should not gripe if they want to.  It's still pretty much a free world out there.  Merry Christmas all, not Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas.

I've read every post in the thread that prompted this. Several of them more than once. I am convinced you're grossly over reacted to what was said/posted.

A bit of history on the subject as I remember it.

You had a barrel, your son's I believe. It didn't shoot to your satisfaction. I believe you spent some amount of time on it but gave up pretty quickly and offered to sell it for $50. Your offer was immediately accepted by a poster and then others jumped in to start a bidding war. I kinda ignored things during this time but as I understand it some ill feelings resulted here and in the end you sold it to the first person to tell you he'd take it as offered.

Still ill will was set in motion at this point.

Fast forward to the thread where someone asked why the Handi's are bad mouthed.

You offered into this thread that you had two barrels and one displeased you so you felt they were about a 50-50 shot at getting a good one. Fair enough from your perspective. No harm to that point. But you pressed it and pressed it. OK so maybe you do know of others. So do most folks.

Even the most devoted of these "handi-holics" admit there are at times problems. Some they fix with tips and hints they share here. Some are sent back to be fixed by factory. Other than perhaps the percentages which neither you nor I know is this any different than any other brand of  long gun? Ya gotta look at what you bought. You bought a cheap gun. One that the entire gun sells for less than a Thompson Center Contender or Encore barrel alone sells for. You really gotta expect some rough edges at that price point. It ain't a custom made gun nor a gun the factory spends a lot of time on. Can't be and sell at that price point.

Some where along the way a comment was made in regard ignorance of folks about these guns and how to fix the little common problems they seem to have. I believe it is at this point you really kinda lost it. I do not think anyone directly called you ignorant. If you felt the shoe fit then fine wear it. If not, then don't put that shoe on. BUT and here is the who crux of the matter I believe, you seem to have a misconception regarding ignorance. Or maybe more properly the difference between ignorance (aka lack of knowledge on a specific subject) and being stupid. This simple misunderstanding is I believe what led to the rest.

You really gotta expect guys as fanitical about these cheap little rifles to defend them. Yeah they also talk bad about them in the next breathe.

As I said I've read it all. I saw no one attacking you. I saw no one out of line. It seemed it had all blown over and then you take it upon yourself to act as if you are the admin here rather than me and start posting a topic called new forum rules. Don't know how it works where ever you used to be but around there I MAKE THE RULES! I pay the bills and I make the rules.

Those rules in place do not allow personal attacks. These guys know that and know I'm prone to come down hard on violators. They walk a thin line at times but they do try to stay within the spirit as well as letter of the rules. I really think your being new here created some misundertandings that caused you to feel you were being attacked when in fact you were not. Again near the end of that thread the last time I'd read it all seemed fine until this thread was started by you.

Now until then I'd watched from the side lines and kept my fingers pretty silent on the key board. But you stepped over the line in this thread and that I refused to accept.

Now back to where we started. You've not been personally attacked. Yeah folks feel you did exactly what above you said you'd not do and asked me if I'd expect you to do. You gave up on the barrel. They don't. They chided you over that and took it as a project to prove you quit too early. Until you decided to post your new rules no rules on the site had been broken.

So go back to options above and decide. Choice is yours. I run no one off unless they really ask to be. Neither do I beg anyone to stay. Those who do stay follow the rules and try to fit in and get alone. Those who don't are asked to leave or shown the door as the need maybe. For now the direction you take is totally in your hands.

Fair is fair Graybeard,  But please let me explain something. The reason I got so fired up is because these guys refused to believe that I put any time at all into the .308.  It took about 6 months of tweaking and reloading to get the .223 right. I put over 9 months and countless hours and dollars at the reloading bench into the .308. Like Longcruise said , it resisted all the standard cures. I am not a quitter.  Then I had 2 replies deleted and when I tried to answer and extend my apoligy to MAC they wouldn't accept it.    Even then I was WAY out of line with the rules thing.Maybe I had too many long-necks in me   But like I said you've been more than fair to me. If you ban me from your site I fully understand . If not lets put this behind us and get on with life. Either way please accept my humble apoligy for disrespecting you. This is a great web-site and a great bunch of guys.

You're not close to being banned yet. You really have to work hard at it to get banned. It never happens unless the person wants to be really badly. Even then we are reluctant to ban. A time out with account deactivated is my preferred method of dealing even with folks bent on causing trouble.

I'm unaware of posts of yours deleted. I didn't. Dunno if a Moderator did or if perhaps you just failed to get it posted. Don't know. Don't believe I saw any by you that later disappeared and I have been watching this one pretty closely. But not continuously for sure.

I must admit I was under the impression you put in far less time than you say you did with the barrel. I guess you did invest a bunch in it. More than I would for sure. But then I'm NOT a handiholic.  :)  I only have one and the only reason I have it is because it belonged to my best friend and after his death I got it from his family.

As far as I'm concerned it's all behind us now.
