Well even tho I've been shooting pump guns since I was about 10 years old back in 1955 I suspect I'll stay with a SXS double because to me it just seems more period correct. Not that a lever action in .45 LC is very period correct but at least the look of the rifle will be correct even if not the caliber.
I just can't imagine that many Win. Model 97s were actually in use in the old west. I think allowing them is merely a concession to the equipment race that always develops in ALL shooting sports among the top shooters.
I'm not going into CAS with intentions of being competitive or trying to win, only to have fun shooting and associating with the people. So I'll likely try to keep the look of the equipment as close as I can to what I'd expect to have been in use.
