If the civil war happened today instead of the 1860's. What would it be fought over, and what side would you take. Answer this question right and you might change your mind about the past. Here are some of my ideas:
1 globilazation vs. isolationism
2 UN vs no UN
3 religious oppression vs religious freedom
4 Big government vs small

Well, lets see here.
I will not take the stance of political party rhetoric as I think those are like lose leaders at the department store, to them.
I really think it is a function of one group having their vision as a leader in a new world order. Wanting to be in on the ground floor, all about POWER & $$$$ here. This nation as they see it is a dying ember in their goal. A nation to be pushed aside, except for the expendable labor force provided.
I personally do not believe they see this, or any nation, to be exempt from modification to fall into this order.
The other group has their collective heads stuck firmly in the sand, arguing for principles which make no difference to the other. See the comment on lose leaders.
It is a head fake, a hip wiggle, sleight of hand, diverting our attention to that part of the body they wish, while doing what they want with the other hand.

Well, fair enough question. I voted Republican, RELUCTANTLY.
I believe I know what will happen, can't see any way of preventing it. If I was a horoscope kinda guy I would say the stars are in alignment.
Honestly, I am kinda tired of this old world and the things man does in the name of power and greed.
I voted, but since the Lord God was not on the ticket I voted Republican as I agreed with their public rhetoric greater than I did the Democrats.
If you ask me what I aligned myownself with more philosophically, I would call myself a conservative democrat--which doan exist any more.
Whose side am I on, I am on the side of the one who is on my side, Christ Jesus, THE Lord God.

Personally, I believe the closest we came to civil war in my lifetime [other than the protests of the 1960's and early 70's] was during the Clinton reign.  We saw the rise of militia groups, poltical factions, distrust of the government, fear of the UN and the new world order -illuminati-and all of the other nationalistic subversive groups and the rise of a police state under Clinton and Reno including, among other things, the renowned Waco and Ruby Ridge fiascos [The NRA got it right..they were 'jack booted thugs'!], the rise of the BATF as a bigoted out of control good ol boys club, the decline of the CIA, the military and the administration's failure to confront international terrorism, gun control....Damn...those were some bad times......

wiliam, I'm with you all the way. there will be another war soon, that of Christ vs the kings of this world(Daniel 2:44). Pretty soon your gonna have to stop supporting any party and put yourself on the side of Christ, not the republican party.

Maggot - So true. The next war is gonna be a religious war and as you refer to Daniel, maybe the final conflict. In fact, the next religious war pitting Christianity against the world has already began in earnest....

I kinda got it figgered that it will take some number of years of realignment before this will happen, but, you will notice that I did not say "in the name of the Lord".
