remington 700 PSS 308 How good????
« on: December 22, 2004, 02:20:36 PM »
I just mounted a scope on  a new 700PSS-308. I had a springfield armory
4x14-56 with the 30mm tube I bought in 99' for the M1A but never mounted it. I had to get super high leopold rings to clear the barrel.
When the weather clears it's out to the range to break in the barrel and see what this set up will do.
I will have to try and beat my buddy who has a laredo winchester in 300 win mag and the CZ ? 308 heavy barrel.
Just wondered how well these will shoot? probaly better than I can anyway. But it looks so cool with the big scope on it. This is the first rifle for me that the scope would not look goofy on.
Any one shooting the 700PSS????? What were your results???

Got a 308 700VS last spring.  Have shot about 600 rounds through it since then.  It has shot 4" 10-round groups @ 600yds.  The PSS is reputed to be better than the VS but each rifle is different.

Go shoot it.  Work up loads and see what works and what doesn't.  Mine just flat out don't like Fed. Gold Medal Match (1.75" @ 100yds).

YMMV
