Hey fellers...

I got a question for all you leather experts. I am wanting to get my dad a Mexican Bandolero in .45 caliber, but I am not sure where to go to get one!! Are they a custom job?? Or can you buy them from most leather workers?? I don't beleive I have seen too many at the CAS matches up here. Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!!

Howdy,

I do a Bandito impression and in my research it became clear that the bandelero or bandoleer wasn't used much and it much more a modern movie/WW invention.

I use one from time to time, when I shoot, because it's easier to wear. But, if and when you want to be "authentic" then look at canvas or leather ammo belts and wear them about your shoulders.

Gosh, I like their outfits....they really look period!! However, do you think anyone told them that their belly bandoleros may not have been SASS legal?

What do you think those rifles were? Must have been a 'Long Range Match' because all of the cartridges look pretty big......
