Handi-rifle pistol grip

Has anyone sanded the pistol grip down to make the wood to metal fit even?  I wonder why that don't do alittle more about the fit.

Yes, a buddy of mine has thinned the pistol grip on his NEF to fit his hand and give it a good wood to metal fit. he also thinned the forearm a bit and tapered it. I have done the same on one of my rossi single shot rifles. They look better and they feel better. It dosent take a long time to do it either if you use a belt sander then hand finish. I did one using a rasp and file, it took a bit longer but the results were just as good. I got the NEF from him then sold it like a dummy.

foxbat21 I have done this several times,I would use sandpaper and hand sand it.With the buttstock mounted,I scribe around the perimeter of the reciever where the stock meets it with a scribe.I then remove the buttstock and sand the stock to the line.Remember constantly check your work and go slow, because its a lot harder to add to then take away.
