In need of a stainless Bisley hammer
« on: December 22, 2004, 11:06:03 PM »
After finishing up my blued & color cased Bisley Super Single Six I have decided that I need to get my hands on a stainless Bisley Super Single Six.

Did Ruger ever make Bisley stainlees SSS with adjustable sights? I have been looking and all that I can find is the special run with fixed sights.

I am thinking that I would have to make my own Bisley. Starting with a stainless Super Single Six and then getting the Bisley conversion kit from Brownells. Thats not hard to do but I think that I am going to have a problem locating the correct stainless Bisley hammer though.

I know that the hammer on my blued Bisley SSS is smaller than my hammer on my large frame gun no question. Do you guys think that Ruger would stock a stainless Bisley small hammer?

Ruger did make a special run of SS Bisley Single Sixes with 4 5/8" barrels. Ruger may have a SS hammer you could buy. If not, you could be stuck using a blued hammer, polishing it as necessary.

Thanks Tom,

I did some digging yesterday (had the day off work) and found out about the "Shootist" Bisleys. I called Ruger too and they told me the parts were in stock.

So thanks for the information.
