Amen: Joel
On Christmas eve a rich man cursed his car cause it broke down
His cell phone wouldn't work that night, he was to far from town
Through snowy trees he saw a light, and soon a house he found
A little shack so sad and worn he nearly turned around
But when he knocked a women came still young but tired and worn
She heard his plees and warily she opened up the door
To his surprise there was a phone, he quickly made his call
And as he spoke, he looked around at the saddness that he saw
The room was cold, the comforts few, the furnishings were spare
A strand of lights in a scrawny tree, beneath the floor was bare
Two children slept beneath a quilt upon an ancient bed
Then he saw the note beside the phone and silently he read
Dear Jesus I am writing you cause Santa doesn't care
He missed our house the last two years and Daddy isn't here
I don't want toys or playthings, but sister needs new shoes
My mother needs a winter coat enclosing I love You
His call complete he stood to go cause help was on it's way
He ask the woman what he owed, But she would take no pay
Soon safe and warm in his fine home, he lie awake in bed
Thinking of that little boly and of the words he read
Dear Jesus I am writing you cause Santa doesn't care
He missed our house the last two years and Daddy isn't here
I don't want toys or playthings, but sister needs new shoes
My mother needs a winter coat enclosing I love You
On Christmas day a man in red came to that little shack
Two children and thier mother watched in awe as he unpacked
At first a little pair of shoes just the perfect size
Then a woolen coat so soft and warm it brought tears to mother's eyes
And there was lots of toys and playthings for a boy that wanted none
The space beneath te tree was packed when Santa's work was done
A thankful boy ask Santa why did he come this year
And Santa said cause Jesus called and told me to come here
I'm writng you dear Jesus to thank you for that boy
Who unselfishly just asked for things to bring his family joy
He's learned a lesson very young, that's known by oh so few
That Christmas is a gift of joy that flows to us from You
Yes Christmas is a gift of Joy and Love that comes to us from You
Merry Christmas:
Richard
