.233 contender coyote tips
« on: December 20, 2004, 04:30:40 PM »
I'd like to hear some tips on pistol hunting.
I just put a .223 on mine contender 10"  with a burris  1-1/2-4 power scope.
What power and range should i set the scope in for?  Hunting Iowa fields or river edge hunting? Should i set it at 100 yds? dont plan on any shots past this!
50 yds? what projectory rise difference if the scope is set at  50 yds. and take a 100 yd. shot?
Any tips or info hunting coyote would be appreciated.
Merry christmas,
                       J-mac

Perfect your calling technique and shoot them as close as you can get them to come in.

My 14" .223 is sighted at 100yds.  The factor that will affect your precision at 50 and 100 will depend more on you than the gun.  Sight at 50 and I'll bet you'll be fine at a 100 as well.

I used a 14inch .223 contender as my main calling gun for awhile.I tried several different set ups my favorite was with a rifle scope light bullets and a sling.I would carry it around my neck set the sling so when I held it out tight I had a perfect sight picture.
