Went around me three nites in a row to hit this tree.....you can see the set in the lower right hand corner

Buzz,I sure wish I had your problems  lol--nice open water.All ours is extremely hard.

It looks like your 330 set just needed a little work to keep him from going around it.  Two logs layed in a V formation on each side of the trap would have funneled him in nicely while camalflaging the trap better.  Also with the trigger sticking straight down in the middle it looks like an obstruction to the beaver.  I usually place the trap with the trigger on bottom and then bend the wires out so they do not stick above the water, this just helps the trap to appear more open and passable to the beaver.  This may not have been a trap shy beaver.  Just one trying to avoid swimming through brush.  I did some experiementing before season by placing some obstruction in a run just to see how much it would take to get the beaver to take a different route.  Any obstruction i placed in a straight row detoured the beaver everytime where when funneled they rarely switched.  
     Thoes are some good looking snare sets.  I need more practice with snares.

the 330 set was alot better before this pic was taken....I just got tired of fixen it after high water and the joker destroyin it by crawin over the logs.....yes, most of the time my triggers are on the bottom also.

He was trap shy twice, slapped him in the nose bout 6 months ago w/ a 330 and took one of his toes a couple of weeks ago w/ a cdr.

Anyways, he's gone now till I screw up again somewhere sometime??
