« on: December 15, 2004, 04:02:05 AM »
I just got a inline barrel for my G2 in 45. Any suggestions on loads and powders? I'll be using it on whitetails and shots will be 100 yards or less.
squeeze it, don't pull it!!!!

I bought an Encore barrel in 45 Cal for my son to use. He is using 195 gr. Barnes Expanders with 2 triple7 pellets. The gun will shoot 1 to 1 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards. Also we are using the 25ACP conversion instead of the 209 primer. He shot 2 doe's in the muzzleloader season. He dropped one in it's tracks and a second one came out less than 5 minutes later and he shot it and it ran 40 yards before going down. I am sure the G2 in 45 will work as well as the 45 cal Encore. Good luck and let us know what you find that works for you.  :D

Thanks Redhawk1 I'll  give it a try. Also how do you get the plastic fouling out. Do they have a special solvent or or just regular gun cleaning solvent will do. :?:   :?

I don't get any plastic fouling in my barrels. My barrel cleans up with just a spit patch. But when I get home I just run a patch with windex with vinager (The clear windex) and then run a brush down the bore and follow up with a couple dry patches. No heavy scrubbing required. The breech plug I let soak in the windex and then scrub and air dry. I use Shooters Choice high temp grease on the threads.  :D

Big Jake, let us know how the G2 45 Caliber does for you.  I got one but haven't taken it out yet.  I'm interested in how well it shoots and how much it recoils for a light gun.  Since these came out there doesn't seem to be much information about them, not even from T/C.

Thanks Big Jake.  I would appreciate any info you get from shooting your G2.  It will probably be a few weeks before I can get mine out to see what it does.  Thanks again.

I will. Also the little thing jumps when you pull the trigger more than I thought it would.

Big Jake, I had someone recommend you try 85 grains of T7 FFg behind one of the following: 275 grain Powerbelt, 180 or 200 grain XTP in tan sabot.  :D

So, Big Jake, tell me honestly how bad does it kick??  If it kicks too bad I'll keep it on the rack.  My arthritic shoulder won't take too much.  As light as it is I have a feeling it will kick pretty good.  Thanks and take care.

Snicker honestly I'm not recoil sensitive it just took me by suprise. I didn't get scoped, the gun was sitting on the sand bag when I squeezed the trigger no support from the other hand. But I'll tell you what, the gun is for the little woman and I'll let you know when she shoots it. She is only 5'4" and 120 lbs. :D  :D  :D
