There are a lot of options out there these days. Most every manufacture offers a 3-3.5 inch version with alloy frames, steel frames two tone
etc
most any configuration you could possible want. Over the last few months I was pondering the same question as you. I ended up with the 3.5 inch Para-Ordnance CCO with the X extractor. I couldnt be more pleased. If I had the opportunity to handle more guns I may have chosen the 3 Inch model instead. Other than Para, Kimber was the only other manufacture I had considered for a smaller 1911 style gun. This gun is every bit as nice as my Kimber or Colt. If you wanted to try the double action idea as well I dont think you would regret the Para.
