New Ballistic Program
« on: January 04, 2005, 08:09:51 PM »
I have just finished an initial evaluation of a new ballistic program.

The name of the program is "TOTALLY BALLISTIC", and it is sold by US-LASERS, INC.

The website is www.totally-ballistics.com

Now, this is not a reloading program, but it is "totally ballistic"!  I can't think of one option that has been left out of this program.

Totally Ballistic is the Ultimate Ballistics Software for Tactical, Military, and Professional Shooters.

It provides all of the information required to help shooters excel whether they're on the range or in the field.

Hunters, Reloaders, Gun Dealers and Range Instructors will find a vast array of tools to assist them with every conceivable ballistic procedure or problem.

Totally Ballistic makes the storage and retrieval of all ballistic data for rifles, pistols, shotguns, and even smokepoles, an easy task...

All of your data can be stored on your hard drive or any removable storage device and later recalled to review or print. This is also true for all of your personal notes, logs, inventory, calculations, graphs and firearm photos.

If you're a shooter who also enjoys archery, you'll find tools to assist you in getting maximum performance out of your archery equipment.

To give you the highest amount of functionality the program was created to allow you to edit all existing Data Tables or create your own.

Your data may also be saved as Comma Separated Value Files for importing into a spreadsheet program.

Ballistic Coefficient Calculator - allows you to calculate BC's from load data or by bullet data.

Metric Converter - converts metric units to US standard.

Barrel Length Velocity Change Calculator - computes a velocity increase or decrease with a change in barrel length.

Velocity Drop Calculator - estimates the drop in velocity for each grain of powder by calculating the velocity loss to powder decrease.

Energy Range Calculator - computes the maximum yardage you can expect from a load that maintains a specified energy that you input.

Chronograph Calculator - calculates deviations and averages on each shot of your Chronograph Data.

Recoil Energy Calculator - calculates the recoil energy in foot pounds that you can expect from any load fired from your rifle.

Maximum Point Blank Range Calculator - How far will your particular bullet travel and hit something with enough force to kill? Use this to find out.

Iron Sight Calculator - used to determine how much sight movement is required to yield a desired impact movement.

Scope Adjustment Calculator - input data to determine how many clicks windage or elevation you will need to adjust for a different zero.

Hunters Checklist - get on the road with peace of mind knowing that you packed everything you need.

Inventory Tracker - track all of your reloading supplies. It will remind you when you need to restock any item. Extremely Accurate!

Target Analyzer - analyze your shot placement by easily and accurately inputting the data into your computer.

Label Creator - Create and Print custom labels for use on your ammo boxes.

Compression & Backup Utility - Save your hard drive space with the built-in compression tool and use the backup utility to prevent loss of ballistic data.

Target Selector - Totally Ballistic has numerous targets that may be printed for range practice. You may easily add your own collection of targets that you create or collect.

Laser Alignment/Bore Sight Adjustment - This Computerized Laser Alignment System is accurate within two inches of Bulls-Eye at 100 yards

I usually don't become excited over reloading software or ballistic software, but this is a damn good program.

I wish I could post it on my download page, but it is a commercial program.  I have been told, however, that I may be receiving a DEMO version which I will be able to post.

Totally Ballistic is the ultimate ballistics software for tactical, military, and professional shooters and reloaders. It provides the necessary information to help shooters excel whether on the range or in the field. Hunters, Reloaders, Gun Dealers and Range Instructors will find a vast array of ballistics software tools to assist them with every conceivable external ballistics procedure.

Totally Ballistic has numerous targets that may be printed for range practice. You can use the Target Analyzer to analyze your shot placement by easily and accurately scanning your target or entering the data into your computer. Totally Ballistic is Database Driven. It includes ballistic data from all major ammunition manufacturers. To give you an even greater amount of functionality the program was created to allow you to edit all existing Data Tables or CREATE your own.

All data files may be backed up to any drive using Totally Ballistic's Backup Utility. Your files may also be saved and imported into spreadsheet programs. You'll also find a compression tool that will compress your database and help you save on hard drive space.

The Brilliance of Totally Ballistic is evident in the program design... Users of all experience levels can manipulate every aspect of the program from the Main Window.

Whether you're playing a tutorial video... Accessing help files... Using one of the numerous ballistic calculation tools... or an accessory program... You'll find every software function has been logically organized, to provide you the ability... to accomplish any ballistic task!

The link on this webpage is for a 10 day trial version of Totally Ballistic.

The download file is a self extracting zip file approximately 25MB in size.

You should be connected to the internet during the short registration process, which is required after installation.

Please note that if you make any adjustments to your clock, during the 10 day trial period, Totally Ballistic will stop working. It is NOT possible to reset the clock and regain your settings. The program will simply cease to function.

Totally Ballistic does not work on all machine configurations. It does help if you have all of the current updates for your particular operating system before installing Totally Ballistic.

If you encounter a problem with the 10-day version of Totally Ballistic, we would appreciate a bug report. Please contact us either through the bug reporting feature available in the program or through the contact us page.

There is no customer support for this 10-day trial version of Totally Ballistic. If it does not work on your computer, simply uninstall the program.

If the 10-day trial version does not work on your machine it is very unlikely that the Retail Version of Totally Ballistic will work either.

Totally Ballistic does not make any permanent changes to your operating system.

Ricciardelli,

Have you ever used the “Loading From A Disk” Program? I would like to know what you think of it.

First things first...

Yes my site was down for a short time today.  I was busy updating a few portions of it, plus adding that new external ballistics program.

Secondly...

Yes I like that program.  Now, I have to be honest, I haven't tried the Demo version, I have a copy of the "real" version.

Thirdly...

Yes, I have Load From A Disk, but I prefer QuickLoad.  I do NOT use these programs to calculate what I should load, I work-up my loads at the range, and then come home and plug the data in them for kicks...

Ricciardelli,

Thanks for the reply. Like you I plug the results of my shooting range bench work back into the program. Loading From A Disk is a program I’m fascinated with. Here at 5000 ft it’s pretty darn close.

The program’s problem is that it doesn’t have all the variables (yet), full powder selection is the main one. LFAD needs to drop its cheesy start screen also.
