Since Cat is hard at work on his new handgonne I thought I'd try posting pics of mine.

After shooting the crap out of the thing during the Ft. Lauderdale Winterfest Boat Parade, the finish was all messed up so I pulled it apart and stripped it down. Here it is all shiny and nice before I paint it again.

It's 12" x 2" with at 1 1/16" bore that's 8" deep. The bore ends about 1/8" past the vent and the hole on the left is for a 3/16" x 2" roll pin that holds a 4' pole in the socket. I'll post some more pics when it's back together.

CAV Trooper.  Hey, nice pictures and we sure appreciate your placing the Goex can along side the tube to show the scale.  Thanks.  Blaster (Bob in CO)

Cav T -

Thanks for the posting of the pix.  When you fire blanks, do you prewrap the black powder in foil?

Sounds like a fun activity - doing it live for a group.

Cat,

That's correct. I do a double wrap of heavy duty foil around a 1" dowel, flatten one end, pour the measured powder in and twist it off.

To shoot it, it's like any other cannon. I just slide the charge in and seat it with a little rammer. Prick the foil, insert a short piece of fuze, light it with slow match on a linstock and BOOM.  Really spectacular at night. LOTS of fire out the muzzle  :)
