do squirrels hibernate

I'm just getting into hunting and I want to go get some squirrels...am I too late. do they stay around in the winter or do they hibernate.  Inquiring minds want to know  :D  I'm in TX!

They do not hibernate, but they will stay denned up when it is really windy, cold, or overcast. Blue bird days just after a storm seem to be the best around me.
