Are all the new SB2 barrels the same diameter at the breach end?  Mine is 1.100 if I remember right.  How many of you can measure and report back?

Mine aren't exactly the same...1.108" for my 270...1.110" for my 25-06...and 1.115" for my 30-06...

There's a very slight difference in all of mine, too, but for all pratical intents and purposes, they all measure 1.1" including the rimfires.

Same here. 1.1 for all practical purposes.

Thanks to all who reported.  Now to go with this do any of you have an off center primer strike.  I mean quite a bit but still no misfires.  I am trying to gather info for making a new barrel for the handi.
Edit:  I'm interested to see if a variance of breach dia has anything to do with off center strike.  My 223 is so far off center I wonder why it never misfires.

Never misfires? Thats good. Does it shoot straight? If so, thats good too. A little bit of old New England Yankee logic, if it ain't broke, don't fix (or worry about) it....<><....

I can share your interest and bit of concern but from one who likes mechanical things perfect (why? because the can be and should be!!) to another, thats the way that barrel and receiver are and that the way they are going to be, we can't change it now (within reason) and there is most likely no reason to. We would have done it differently, but just shoot it, enjoy it and learn from it....<><....

The only Handi that I've ever owned that had a  noticeable off center primer strilke was my old 30-30 Topper...it hit at 2 o'clock on the primer face everytime...but never failed to fire once...

Primer strike

I've noticed that the primer strike location has a lot to do with how the barrel is fitted. While re-fitting 6 barrels, I found that the primer strike is low for barrels "just barely" fitted and centered for those fitted right in the middle of the specs. The chambering process can affect this also, as it can affect the barrel fit if the chamber is too shallow.

I did say, making a new barrel for the handi, what I actually meant was thinking of making an additional barrel the the handi.  Nothing wrong with the one I have, it shoots 5 in a dime at 100 with the WW 45 JHP's.  You know me, never satisfied, the wheels just keep spinning, new ideas, so much to do, so little time............. :?
