Hi, I have a question regarding a handgun that my cousin is trying to sell me. I don't know alot about handguns, but he needs some cash, and I don't want to get robbed. It is a 357 magnum, and on the gun "Arminius and H. Weihrauch". It also says "Made in Germany". How can I find out the value and history of this gun? Any info is greatly appreciated.

I wish I had better news for you... Arnimus was a line of cheap revolvers made in Germany in the 1960s and 70s.  Quality was not great.

Arnimus mostly made cheap .22s, .38s etc. but did venture into some high pressure cartridges... apparenlty you have come across one of those excursions.

Given the really low prices on quality used S&W revolvers these days, I would suggest passing on the Arnimus...at any price.  Buy a good used S&W and it will give you a lifetime of excellent service.

Sorry to be the messenger of bad news...but better to know in advance.

FWIW
