New Knife that I made.
« on: February 11, 2005, 04:04:00 PM »
A friend of mine who is an avid waterfowl hunter, wanted a knife he could carry ala~neck knife, so it wouldn't interfere with his waders.  I located the boning knife blade that he wanted and added an elk antler and bocote wood handle; the spacers are brass.  The buttcap is water buffalo horn.

The sheath is bocote and wenge wood, with an elk antler spacer.  The leather is oiltanned cowhide.  It's a long knife, but it rides well under the arm pit.  Has a nice traditional look. :D

JeffG, This knife would be great for that first cut around the deers butt hole.  I think it could have other uses for areas you don't have a lot of space and you need some reach.  Nice materials and finishing job.  Buckfever

Jeff,
I like those Saamii/Puuko sheaths you do, 'bout as much as your knives.  Both are first rate.  Your friend must be well pleased.
