Classic Cowboy Boots
« on: January 31, 2005, 12:21:06 PM »
Hey Fellers,

Got a question on classic cowboy boots...I got an old pair of brown knee high mule skin boots.  They have smooth leather bottoms.  They also have brown stitching on the toe and tops.  Is this stitiching classic cowboy legal?  I hope so...

Thanks

Hey guys,

This Cowboy Action Shooting has got me ready to go.

A few questions from someone who has decided to try it.

Where do I get all the rules and paperwork.
What kind of equipment do I need? Shot gun, pistols, rifle etc.

Are they strictly blackpowder?

Are there any groups you know of in East Tennessee?

Is it legal to use stainless steel guns?

Help me out here...

Red,

I'd suggest you start yoru own thread, it'll get more attention.
Now if you want more information, check out SASSNET.COM  That's the biggest organization in the game.  They have a forum that should be up again in a few days.
Check out the handbook and you'll get the rules.

You need two pistols, one rifle and one shotgun.  The pistols and rifle must be low power pistol cartridges, the shotgun 20 gauge or larger.  Lead bullets only. Stainless guns are OK.  Tennessee has some good clubs, find them using the SASSnet links.  Smokeless and BP are both used.

Good luck..

Earlier post replied they are OK for SASS -

with some other groups - NCOWS (National Congress Of Old West Shooters)  to be specific, stitching on the toes are not "legal"
